2022 marks the 11th year of the Wyangala Fireworks & Bonfire Spectacular, a fun, exciting and eagerly anticipated annual event on the local community calendar. The event brings together an estimated 4,000 visitors, both near and far, annually.

Held at the Matt Morrison Oval Sunday of the June long weekend, this community event is made possible by dedicated volunteers from the town as well as some passionate ‘out of towners’ who are invested in the success of this township, plus a handful of generous local sponsors.

The events main attractions are the huge bonfire and dazzling fireworks display that rivals Sydney’s world-famous new year’s event.

This is a free event however donation buckets will be available on the day and a gold coin donation is welcomed at the gate to help ensure the success of the following years event.

Other activities on the day (free and paid) kick off around 10am and conclude with the fireworks display around 6:30pm. You can try your hand at the Ambrose golf event, lawn bowls, the Morgan Insurance ‘nearest to the pin’ shoot out, junior putting competition for the kids, live entertainment by Central West musical talent, Oli Statham, on the oval alongside food and drinks stalls (cash only). Bring your winter woolies, picnic rugs and chairs and grab your spot by the bonfire, set alight around 4:30pm.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Entertainment and more food can be found at the Wyangala Country Club after the fireworks conclude.

Be sure to follow @wyangalafireworks on Facebook and @visitwyangala on Instagram to keep up to date with the event and tag your pictures with #wyangalafireworks to join in the fun.

A big thank you to the wonderful volunteers who make this event possible. We can’t wait to welcome you to Wyangala Dam.
