Tourism Corporation Launches Plans At ‘Let’s Talk Tourism’
The Cowra Tourism Corporation officially launched its new booking system and future plans to improve tourism industry collaboration in Cowra, at its ‘Let’s Talk Tourism’ event last Monday night.
CTC also took the opportunity to introduce its brand new Cowra Visitor’s Guide, which will be available later this year, with 20,000 copies distributed to 160 visitor information centres across NSW.
CTC began using a centralised booking system earlier this year, which gives it the ability to book accommodation, hospitality and tours on behalf of businesses in the tourism and hospitality industry in Cowra that sign up to CTC’s program.
This has enabled CTC to make bookings for tourists that phone them or pass through the Visitor Information Centre, without the tourists’ needing to do so themselves, making for an improved visitor experience for tourists in Cowra.
CTC Chairperson Erin Watt said it was great to introduce the concept to local tourism businesses last Monday.
“We’re encouraging any other business that has not yet registered to contact CTC and take part,” she said.
“It was also a great opportunity for us to take feedback from them too, as we want to work with them as closely as we can.”
“We also had some wonderful tourism figures that were able to report on.”
Ms Watt said CTC also announced it will be forming a special committee of CTC members that organise events in Cowra, to improve preparedness and scheduling of events in Cowra Shire.
She said this was to reduce the risk of scheduling clashes, and improve the chances of businesses being prepared for a potential influx of visitors.
Businesses were also encouraged to consider taking part in the upcoming visitor guide, in order to promote themselves in visitor information centres outside of Cowra.
