Tickets are now almost sold out for the ICW Central West`s annual memorial wrestling show in Cowra, this year being held on Saturday 11th of October at the Uniting Church Hall.
Event promoter and local wrestler James ‘’High Octane’’ Lanham is very happy with the public reception for the memorial show he holds for his late girlfriend Emma Butler.
“Cowra has always come out strong and gotten behind our shows since our first one in 2013, but everyone sees the shows as so much more special, and important, now that they`re for Emma and her namesake charity!’’, explains James.
“This is the fastest we’ve ever had tickets sell this far out, and will likely lead to a move to a bigger venue going forward”, says James.
This is the third event James has held to help raise awareness about tongue cancer, as well as funds and awareness for Emmas Tongue Cancer Charity, a registered charity run by Emma
s parents and brother that has thus far purchased early detection scopes (which are a multi use device )for doctors and dentists in the central west and elsewhere in NSW.
‘’Last year we received the amazing news that a central west resident received lifesaving treatment as a direct result of one of the scopes purchased by Emma`s charity with funds raised from the 2022 event in Cowra, which makes it all worth it!’’, James tells us.
“So far, with the help of our loyal Cowra fans and those traveling, as well as our sponsors and other organisations in our community, we have raised $4,165.15 for Emma’s charity from these events, who have already donated scopes to Cowra Dental Practice, and Dr Guy Date at Kendal St Medical Associates”, among others, James tells us.
Tickets are available from the Humanitix website by searching for The Emma Butler Memorial Wrestling Show 2025.
ICW Central West is always open to talking with local businesses and organisations about the possibility of sponsorship and are very flexible with these deals to find something that best suits all involved.
