Solar Array At The Sewerage Treatment Plant

As part of Council’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, solar panels have been installed at both the Cowra Water and Sewerage Treatment Plants.

A 99kW ground-mounted solar system was recently installed at the Cowra Sewerage Treatment Plant. This system is expected to generate up to 173,000 kWh of electricity each year.

Additionally, a 27kW roof-mounted system was installed at the Cowra Water Treatment Plant in August 2024.

This system is projected to produce approximately 47,000 kWh annually.

These upgrades mark a significant step toward reducing Council’s environmental footprint and promoting the use of renewable energy across local infrastructure.
