Morongla Flower Show

Recently the Morongla Red Cross held Flower Show entertainment and afternoon tea. This was a huge success. Thank you to all who helped. Thanks to the members who donated trophies and money. Also, congratulations to the people who entered flowers, both judges said it was difficult to judge due to such a high standard.

Rebekah Wright won champion arrangement, Carmel Terethewey won champion bloom, and Julie Whitby won most successful exhibitor.

Thank you so much to the entertainers, Theo and Gabriella Renyolds, Pascale Stendall and Tony King. Red Cross service bars were presented by Myrtle Wright to Meg Partridge – 10 Years, Barbara Rocavert – 10 Years, Della Toohey – 10 Years, Kelton Wilson – 40 Years, Mary Binnington – 50 Years, and Barbara Langfield – 50 Years.

The December Meeting will be morning meetings of Red Cross and C.W.A. starting at 10am Morongla Hal, 7th December.

Applications Are Now Open For The 2022 Cowra Christmas Festival

Cowra Tourism Corporation in conjunction with Cowra Shire Council, Cowra Business Chamber and the Cowra Information & Neighbourhood Centre are thrilled to announce that the Cowra Christmas Festival will be returning to Kendal Street for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic!

The 2022 Cowra Christmas Festival will be held on Friday, 2 December from 6pm - 9pm on Kendal Street and will be an event with something for everyone. From stall holders, activities, and entertainment to a special visit from the big man in the red suit, this is an event for the whole family.

The event has grown from strength to strength over the past few years, with a crowd of approximately 5000 people attending throughout the evening at last year’s event. Demand for stall sites are high, with many EOI already received from potential vendors. To secure your stall we encourage you to return your application form ASAP.

Please Note that due to the size of this event and the number of applications we receive, the below information MUST Be attached on your application in order for it to be processed;

  • Copy of current (to be current for the event on the 2 December 2022) $20 Million Public Liability Insurance (EVEN if this has been provided previously for other events)
  • Payment method ticked AND filled out ON the form (if you are paying at the Cowra Visitor Information Centre you will need to submit the application when you make payment).
  • Completed and signed application with specific information regarding the nature of your stall. Note; if you are selling food at this event you must note the details of the food to be sold i.e. Beef & Vegetarian Nachos, Hot Roast Beef rolls etc...
  • Any specific requirements MUST be completed on this application – please note that if you have requested something via email it may be missed so please ensure you complete this in the outlined section on the application Planning is underway for the 2022 event which is sure to be the biggest and best Cowra Christmas Festival yet. Cowra Connection Centre

The Cowra Connection Centre is a safe and relaxing venue for members of Cowra and our local areas to connect with others.

We are a drop-in centre where trained volunteers from the Cowra and surrounding community offer a listening ear, and information about local services, over a free cuppa.

Please feel welcome to call in for a chat, take some time out of the busyness of your day, access our computers, or find out about the interests groups available at Connection Centre for you to join.
