Premier’s Reading Challenge Now Open

The Premier’s Reading Challenge marks its 21st anniversary this year, with children encouraged to join the party - by reading lots of books! The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature.

The Premier’s Reading Challenge begins on Monday, 28 February and is open for student entries until Friday, 19 August. Students from government, independent, Catholic and home schools in Kindergarten to Year 10 can participate.

Get Your $500 Before And After School Care Vouchers Now

The NSW Government’s $155 million program for Before and After School Care (BASC) vouchers is now live for parents and carers of children enrolled in a NSW primary school.

The $500 vouchers are available now to use at participating providers to assist families with access to BASC services by covering a parent gap fee component of their session fees.

Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government Victor Dominello said the vouchers are now live on the Service NSW app.

Families can access the vouchers online via MyServiceNSW account, in the app, or by visiting their nearest Service Centre.

CINC Receives Women’s Week Funding

Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre has received a slice of $100,000 worth of grant funding by the NSW Government to support Women’s Week 2022.

NSW Women’s Week runs from Monday, March 7 to Sunday, March 13, and promotes gender equality while celebrating the social, cultural and political achievements of women.

CINC will use the funds to organise a financial management workshop for women.

The NSW Women’s Week Grants pro-gram provided $3,000 to $5,000 grants to events that support at least one of the key priorities of the NSW Women’s Strategy 2018-2022. These include improving women’s financial wellbeing and security, encouraging a holistic approach to health and wellbeing or helping women to build confidence and celebrate their achievements.

World Day of Prayer In Cowra

St John’s Anglican Church in Cowra will be hosting a World Day of Prayer mass in Cowra.

The World Day of Prayer is run under the motto “Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action,” and is celebrated annually in over 170 countries on the first Friday in March.
