Peter McDonald Awarded OAM

Cowra legend the late Peter McDonald was posthumously awarded an OAM last Thursday as part of the Australia Day Honours List. Mr McDonald served Cowra and the Central West by dedicating his life to rugby league, being a long serving volunteer and administrator with the Country Rugby League and Cowra Magpies. He was the only resident of Cowra to receive an Australia Day Honour this year.

Harrington Circus Visits Woodstock

A FREE circus was on offer for locals last weekend, with the Harrington Circus rolling into Woodstock, the first to do so in 50 years!

The circus was held at the Woodstock Showground, and was brought to town by the NSW Government courtesy of its Reconnecting Regional NSW grant program, which the Woodstock Show Society made a successful application for. Five shows were held across the weekend, with bookings still required and numbers capped at 200 per show.

The Adult Survivors of Child Abuse - Cowra Support Group meets on the 1st Friday of each month from 12:30 to 14:30 and is open to survivors of all communities. Information Session For Music Performers at Cowra Community Markets

The Cowra Community Markets have renewed their offer for young people to perform at the monthly markets on the 3rd Saturday of each month for free. No experience, nor ability required as long as the heart is in it and your child wishes to sing, beatbox, or play their instrument – 49 key keyboard is available on request for each event.

During this information session you will be able to meet the facilitator, get to know how to get your child involved at the Cowra Markets or in other opportunities throughout the year, and ask all the other questions you may have.

Seniors Week High Tea

The Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre will host a Seniors Week morning tea next Monday, 6th February at 11am at 15 Vaux Street, Cowra. It will be a high tea, with entry by gold coin donation. Please RSVP to 63401100 as places are limited.

Calls For Urgent Road Repair Funding Member for Riverina Michael McCormack has requested the Federal roads minister at least match the NSW Government’s $500 million injection to repair roads badly damaged by recent floods.
