Funding for Cowra Airport upgrade

Cowra Airport has been given funding to improve facilities as part of Round 2 of the Federal Government’s Regional Airports Program. The airport is among the 89 across the nation which are benefiting from nearly $30 million in grants.

Mr McCormack said the funding would go towards important infrastructure upgrades.

“The $260,000 in funding will go towards the installing of apron lighting, drainage works and a Precision Approach Path Indicator which will all further improve airport safety,” Mr McCormack said.

This project will not only improve the Cowra Airport, it will create jobs as we continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Cowra Mayor Councillor Bill West described the grant as very welcome news.
