Hundreds of children were treated to the joy of meeting Santa in person last Wednesday evening, as he fly into Cowra on a plane.

The Santa ‘fly-in’ is an annual event that is hosted by the Cowra Aero Club in conjunction with Ray White Emms Mooney, with the Aero Club flying Santa into Cowra Airport on one of its planes.

Emms Mooney supports the initiative by collecting presents and handing them over to the Aero Club for Santa to deliver upon his landing.

They also provided a free BBQ this year at Cowra Airport for the big crowd that gathered.

In the lead up to the flyin, Emms Mooney invite the public to submit Christmas gifts to its office on Kendal Street, which it hands over to the Aero Club to give to Santa so he can hand them out to their recipients at Cowra Airport.

Emms Mooney real estate agent Adam Gambrill said it was a hugely successful event.

“We had around a hundred presents handed in. It was great weather and a great turnout,” he said.

“From Emms Mooney’s perspective it’s all about supporting the community, getting out there, giving back, and supporting the Aero Club with their great initiative.” “We’ve already spoken to the Aero Club about running the event again next year and some things we can do differently to make it as good as possible.”

The Cowra Phoenix wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Our first edition back in 2023 will be Wednesday 25th January.
