Rotary Time Capsule To Be Opened After 25 Years

In 1975 the Rotary Club of Cowra buried a time capsule in Olympic Park adjacent to the Visitors Centre [near the big eagle]

In 2000 the time capsule was unearthed and the contents distributed to the owners or their descendants. The time capsule was again filled with items from the public and various schools and organisations, and buried for a further 25 years.

The official opening will take place on Saturday 13th December 2025 at 12.00pm.

All welcome, especially those who may have items enclosed.

It will then be reburied for a further 25 years.

The Cowra Rotary Club will be providing a free sausage sizzle commencing at 11.30am

Members of the public, businesses, schools, sporting clubs and other organisations and associations are invited to place items in the capsule.

Persons or organisations wishing to place items in the capsule are requested to complete two copies of a simple registration form available on request by emailing cowrarotaryclub@gmail.com, or collecting from the Rotary Bookshop , in Kendal street opposite the Railway Hotel, which is open Wed-Friday 10.00am -3.00pm and Sat 10.00am-12.30pm.

One copy of the form is to be placed inside the plastic container with your items and the other returned with the container.

Items must be must be placed in a sealed plastic rectangular container (school lunch box size), with maximum dimensions of 230mm x 150mm x 100mm and clearly labelled with your name.

All Items are to be delivered to the site in Olympic Park adjacent to the Visitor's Centre between 11.00am and 12.00pm on Saturday 13th December, or to the Rotary Bookshop from Wednesday to Friday between 1 0.00am and 3.00pm in the weeks leading up to the event.
