Pre 1931 Autumn Tour Comes To Cowra For Second Time

Dinosaur Drivers Register Inc will host its 14th annual Pre 1931 Autumn Tour in Cowra this weekend, with 134 entrants from all over NSW, Victoria, SA and QLD descending on Cowra for the event.

The event sees members of the Dinosaur Drivers Register Inc travel to a different town each year, travelling with historic vehicles that were manufactured before 1931.

The event will start on Friday and run through to Sunday, with entrants touring Cowra and surrounds and showing off their beautiful old cars.

The oldest cars to make the trip to Cowra will include a 1910 Scat, 1912 Napier, 1914 Talbot, and a 1916 Cadillac.

There will also be T Model & A Model Fords, Chevrolet, Reo, Chrysler, Cadillac, Austin Seven, Desoto, Marquette, Hudson, Sunbeam, Graham Paige, Mg, Morris Cowley ,Oakland, Pierce Arrow, Buick, Oldsmobile, Studebaker, Dodge, and Hup Mo-bile cars, all pre 193.

Registrations and tea and coffee will take place from 1pm on Thursday at the Cowra Showground Pavilion before the event starts on Friday.

All entrants vehicles will be on display in the carpark at NSW Rural Fire Service Area Command Western (Cowra Airport) to the general public between 9:30am and 11:30am on Friday. There could also be a couple of vintage fire trucks on display. Entrants will enjoy guided tours of the facilities and morning tea.

The entourage will then trek to the Gooloogong Log Cabin for lunch, catered by the Cowra Rotary Club, before heading to Canowindra for a leisurely afternoon.

Entrants will enjoy breakfast at the Cowra Japanese Garden before leaving for morning tea at the Woodstock Showground, catered by the Woodstock CWA ladies.

A display of Ansett Clipper buses will also be on show in Woodstock as part of their national rally being held in Woodstock over the same weekend.

It will then be on to Wyangala Dam for an information talk before lunch at Wyangala Country Club.

The Tour Dinner and Presentation will be held at the Cowra Services Club on Saturday night.

The farewell breakfast will be held at the Cowra Showground Pavilion for entrants, catered by the Cowra Rotary club, from 8am to 10am.
