With the opening of the 2025 Cowra Shire Australia Day Awards, Cowra Council General Manager, Paul Devery is encouraging all of us to consider nominating one of our Shire’s worthy volunteers.

“Our Shire is full of remarkable people doing good deeds for our town and villages every day. The Cowra Shire Australia Day Awards is a wonderful way to acknowledge an individual or community group you know of, that contributes to enriching the lives of others in our Shire,” Mr Devery said.

Award nominations are being accepted in four categories including: Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Group of the Year and the Dr Warren Whiley Memorial Award for Arts, Culture and Citizenship.

“Past award winners come from all across the Cowra Shire and represent many different interests and levels of community involvement over time, and especially during the last 12 months,” said Mr Devery.

Nominations can be completed online on Council’s website or forms can be collected at Council’s Customer Service Centre. Nominations close at 4.30pm, Friday 29 November 2024.
