The Cowra Netball Association has ended its 2025 winter season on a high, with local leaders handing over the keys to their brand-new clubhouse.

Funded through the Stronger Country Communities Fund, the clubhouse is part of a $628,406 investment announced by the former Coalition Government to upgrade Col Stinson Park’s netball facilities.

Alongside the new clubhouse, the grass netball courts have been sealed with asphalt, and the car park has been upgraded, ensuring Col Stinson Park can meet the needs of athletes and their families for years to come.

Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke joined Federal Member Michael McCormack, Cowra Mayor Paul Smith, and members of the Cowra Netball community for the grand opening of the new facilities on Monday.

“Sport truly brings our regional communities together, and that’s why it’s essential that governments are investing in the spaces where people love to connect,” Ms Cooke said.

“I’m so proud that we’ve been able to gift Cowra’s netball community with the perfect space to gather, grow, and celebrate their achievements for generations to come.”

“Netball is by far the most popular sport for female athletes across our electorate, so it makes perfect sense to invest in the infrastructure that we know is encouraging women and girls to keep active and that is helping them develop life-long friendships.”

“Projects like this are a great reflection of the former Government’s commitment to make regional NSW the best place to live, work and visit.”
