MS Readathon

While playing sports keeps a child’s body moving and in optimal physical shape, it isn’t the only part of a child’s anatomy that needs frequent exercising.

Their developing minds benefit tremendously from reading and what better way to do it than participating in something fun and beneficial alongside thousands of other children across the country, all while raising money to help a fantastic cause.

The MS Readathon is back and kids across Cowra are turning the pages and delving into unknown mysterious and adventurous journeys in support of other children and families dealing with Multiple Sclerosis.

The aim of the game is to read as many books as they can within the month of August and encourage their families and friends to donate to the MS Readathon.

Donations go towards funding specialty MS family camps and family fun days which provide immense support for families coping with MS on a daily basis.

It is a vital resource for children who have a parent diagnosed with MS. With the goal in mind of raising money, and earning badges as they go, the Readathon encourages children to read more, expand their taste in books and experience all sorts of magical worlds while sharpening their reading skills.

It is a great initiative that has been encouraging children to read for over 40 years and is still going strong today. Anyone can get involved (including big kids at heart) by heading over to the MS Readathon website or children can participate through their schools.
