The MHERV [Mens Health Educational Rural Van] made its annual visit to Cowra this week. Staffed by a Registered Nurse, Jennifer Roders, MHERV is an initiative of the Rotary Club of Warners Bay and visits Cowra each year.

The van was in operation on Saturday morning and Monday in Kendal st outside Silly Solly’s. 28 Cowra residents had a free health check on the Saturday morning and a further 39 attended on Monday, a total of 45 men and 22 women.

One client was referred immediately to hospital as a result of the health check, and a further 13 were advised to see a GP asap.

The Rotary club of Cowra would like to thank Club Cowra for its generosity in providing 3 nights accommodation at the Services Club Motel for our visiting Registered Nurse, and Cowra Shire Council for its assistance in logistics.
