LVBAA To Launch This Weekend

Not to be missed is the Lachlan Valley Biennial Art Awards (LVBAA) opening at the Cowra Regional Art Gallery Saturday 6 May @ 2pm. Open to regional artists living within 100 km from Cowra the LVBAA 2023 includes artwork by 43 artists from Cowra, Canowindra, Bathurst, Young, Koorawatha, Noonbinna, Newbridge, Orange, Blayney, Millthorpe, Mullion Creek and Mount Rankin. The LVBAA is non-acquisitive and open to entries that are two dimensional artworks in any style or subject including painting, drawing, watercolour, pastel and mixed media.

Participants have the opportunity to win the $4,000 Major Prize for the most outstanding work in the exhibition and the Barbara Bennett Memorial Award of $1,000 awarded at the end of the exhibition to the work voted as the People’s Choice Award. This year’s Judge is Lisa McKimmie, artist and arts educator. The LVBAA is organised by the Cowra Art Group Inc and hosted by the Cowra Regional Art Gallery, exhibition dates are Sunday 7 May to Sunday 28 May 2023, Admission free. Open hours are Tuesday to Saturday 10am – 4pm, Sunday 10am - 2pm.
