In a progressive move for the Cowra Lions Club, under President Milton Barnett, to better serve the requirements of their members and the community, has accepted to operate a review of its operational framework. The result of this review is a decision by its members to realign meeting times and formats to insure engagement and availability for both being and potential members.

President Milton prefigured this action in July during the Club Changeover event, where he stressed the need to acclimatise to the reality of changing community needs and expectations. Lions’ members have madly championed the proposed changes, which will take effect immediately.

Therefore, the Cowra Lions Club will transition to a consolidated yearly meeting format, convening on the last Tuesday of each month. The initial meeting under this new structure is listed for 29 August at the Cowra Bowling Club, commencing at 12:00 pm. This refined format will be supported by the Lions Club Board conducting all other essential business matters as and when needed.

The revamped meeting structure has been designed to serve to the requirements of both existing and prospective members. The meetings will begin at 12:00 pm, for members and guests, and a warm introduction for the Guest Speaker and announcements regarding approaching events, concluding no later than 1:00 pm.

President Milton Barnett said,”Cowra Lions is committed to nurturing our community, and we extend a cordial invitation to fellow community members to participate and champion the causes we hold dear. With our existing male and female members, dating back to the inclusion of women in 1987, we look forward to fresh perspectives from new and younger members. Their vitality and expertise will be crucial in modernising our Club’s practices and projects for the benefit of our community”
