Have you heard Lisa Flanagan, Penny Simpson, Nerida Gibson, Kate Smith and Carl Erle in full flight singing songs from their favourite musicals and movies?
A treat is in store for Cowra audiences when they, along with so many other wonderfully talented Cowra locals, will entertain audiences at Cowra Showcase which will be staged at the Civic Centre in less than two weeks’ time. For these shows, the Society is welcoming home to Cowra former locals Melissa Stewart and Peter Starr who have both played in shows both in Cowra and beyond.
“This is the Moment” from Jekyll and Hyde, “Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera, “The Wizard and I” from Wicked, “When I Grow Up” from Matilda and “As Time Goes By” from Casablanca are among the many popular numbers on the show’s program.
“The excitement is growing!” said Lawrance Ryan from the Musical and Dramatic Society. “After months of preparation, we have finally begun rehearsing at the Civic Centre. It is great to be back treading the boards after such a long break, and we have great talent to showcase”, he said.
There are Friday and Saturday evening performances as well as the ever popular matinee performance on Sunday afternoon. Tickets are available from the Civic Centre either in person or by phone or via the website.
Cowra Musical and Dramatic Society invites one and all to come along to Cowra Showcase and a wonderful evening or afternoon’s entertainment.
