The harness racing was in full swing on Sunday with 8 races in total taking place on the day. The feature race took to the track with Jason Turnbell on ‘Lucky Nutter’ taking the win. ‘Float on by’ came in second and ‘just won more’ crossed the line in third place. The Turnbell family had success across the meet, with Jason winning 3 races on the day. Race 4 saw Cowra’s very own Mendoza Lass take home the win making Daryl Davis one very happy man. “One of our very own in race 4 was great to see!”
With spectators out and about enjoying their day at the races, Daryl was pleased with the numbers. “We had roughly 210 people pass through the gate today. It has been a wonderful day and just a genuinely good day for racing.” This Sunday will see the track fire up again with the Cowra Carnival of Cups being held.
“Next Sunday will be bigger and better with the cup races. The prize money is big, it will make for a really good day and we are hoping to see a fair few people come down to watch the races.”
The Carnival of Cups will kick off at 12pm Sunday the 20th of June at the Cowra showground.
