The Cowra Magpies were delivered the news they were reluctant to receive last week, adding them to the list of sports that have seen their seasons end prematurely.

Group 10 Rugby League made the difficult announcement to cancel all remaining regional competitions due to the current health orders. While some restrictions eased across NSW, it wasn’t enough to see the Rugby League season play out to the end, leaving many players devastated.

Group 10 stated that the current Public Health Orders did not allow for organised or competitive community sport to recommence.

It was a bitter pill to swallow with the under 18’s climbing the ladder to fight for their place in the grand final. The announcement cemented their places for the season with Reserve Grade finishing 7th on the ladder, League Tag 5th and Under 18’s 3rd.

Despite the disappointing news, it seems changes are being made to the competition next year, with Cowra to reenter the first grade competition, making for an exciting 2022 for Rugby League.
