Fundraiser For Grant Charnock

Cowra residents are being encouraged to buy raffle tickets from local businesses from this Friday for a fundraiser for Cowra local Grant Charnock.

Mr Charnock was involved in a motorcycle accident in Victoria last week, and is set to face a considerable recovery time in hospital, away from fmily and friends in Cowra. Dream Body and Skin Clinic owner Ash Field has lead the charge on the fundraiser, with many local businesses already donating prizes for the raffle.

There will be a first, second and third prize, with the raffle running until just before Christmas.

Ash said she was completely overwhelmed by the response she’d had so far from businesses, especially because the idea has only been posted on social media so far.

“I had absolutely no idea the outpouring from the business community and community in general would be so extravagant but I guess that’s what makes living in a small community so special in times like this,” she said.

Tickets will be available from Dream Skin and Body Clinic, Bareface Aesthetics/Cowra Cosmetic Injectables, Raquels Hair Salon and Relish, with more to be announced. The fundraiser will be launched at the Cowra Christmas Street Festival this Friday night, with a finish date to be announced over the coming weeks.

The initial Facebook post has been shared 82 times with a reach of over 10,000 people so far.

“I am so extremely proud of the generosity from our in general,” Ash said.
