The talents of local artist Kel from Kels Arty Kreations have been sneaking out into the community as she set to work brightening the days of some very lucky art lovers. Inspired by Queensland artist Magenta Quinn, Kel has been taking part in a beautiful movement called ‘Found Art’. When lockdowns plagued the country, the idea of hiding artwork for people to discover came to life.

“It just spreads a bit of joy and happiness, especially during the past year.” Kel said. Between farming and her day job, she still finds time to create some unique and vibrant works of art, including some lively round discs of intricate colour that she generously ‘drops’ at various locations.

“Art is much like being on the farm, it’s a lovely way to escape reality, and I just sim-ply love what I do.”

When it comes to participating in ‘Found Art’, Kel is delighted to see people discovering her pieces. “If I can make one person smile, I have done my job. It’s a great feel-ing when I go back to check on the hiding spots and they have been picked up.” With her plan to transform a shearing shed into a studio, Kel has her sights set on expanding her love for art into running her own classes and workshops. In the meantime if you’re out and about keep your eyes peeled as the very talented artisan plans to continue dropping artwork around the region, the locations however, remain an exciting mystery.
