Wife of local business legend Max Tomlin, Barbara Tomlin, has made an extraordinary contribution to Cowra by donating the new outdoor fitness equipment at Olympic Park, in honour of her husband.

The new equipment was officially opened on Saturday June 5, coinciding with the celebration of Mr Tomlin’s 90th birthday at the Cowra Golf Club.

Mrs Tomlin paid for the costs of the equipment, ordering it through Cowra Shire Council, with Council installing the equipment and producing a plaque honouring Mr Tomlin’s contributions to Cowra.

Mr Tomlin, now retired, has lived in Cowra with Mrs Tomlin since 197, and is best known for establishing the industrial area in West Cowra, on and around Young Road.

The Tomlins were instrumental in developing 5 sub-divisions and 22 commercial buildings in Cowra’s light Industrial centre specifically around Young Road, Fishburn and Waratah Streets.
