Local grain buyer and distributor East Coast Stockfeeds is hosting its annual growers information afternoon in Gooloogong, Thursday October 6.

The event will be held at the Gooloogong Country Club at 3pm, with all local growers invited to attend, whether or not they are existing clients of ECS.

ECS owner Stuart Dolden said they event would be a “casual” catchup with local growers about the grain market at the moment, and the challenges posed increased interest rates, fuel costs and the impact of the severe weather this year. “It’ll be a great chance to discuss the current climate of the market, as well as the great challenges that we’ve faced with crops, harvest and labour,” he said.

ECS serves growers from throughout the Central West, as well as Graincorp, and farmers up and down the East Coast of Australia.

It’s primary service is storing and distributing grains it purchases from its growers, striving to get the best price for its clients.

It has sheds and grain silos at its two properties in Billimari and Gooloogong that it uses to store grain, and it distributes them by trucks to Port Kembla, and by rail from Bathurst to Port Botany.

ECS sees itself as the link between growers and the final destination of their grain, storing and packing the grain and preparing it for export, including shipping containers, and selling it for the best possible price at the right time of the year.

“We always trade our growers’ grain to get the best possible price, and when we always pass this pricing onto our clients,” he said.

ECS distributes all types of grain, including wheat, canola, barley, lupin, chickpeas and lentils, just to name a few.

It takes in and distributes grains over 10 months of the year. East Coast Stockfeeds Pty Limited (formally Dolden and Thrathen) started trading in the mid 1920’s and has since grown to be a major marketer of all commodities ranging from food and beverage manufacturing bi-products, through to many different grains, legumes and pulses for human consumption and animal stockfeed.

It has long been known in the industry for our reliability, honesty and integrity when it comes to working with growers. The team is dedicated to provide growers with competitive pricing and dependable service across the domestic and export markets.
