The NSW State Government’s “Dine and Discover” voucher program launched in Cowra last week, and is now being made available 7 days per week across the entire state.
Previously the vouchers could only be used Monday to Thursday, but they can now be used at any time, except for public holidays.
The vouchers have been split into the two categories of “dine” and “discover”, and every adult in NSW is eligible to receive 2x $25 vouchers for each one, totalling $100 in value all together. The “dine” vouchers can be used at hospitality businesses, while “discover” vouchers can be used at entertainment and tourism industry businesses. A full list can be found on the Service NSW website.
In Cowra, the “dine” vouchers can be used at the Cowra Services Club, The Quarry Restaurant, Cowra Golf Club, Cowra Bowling Club, McDonald’s, Imperial Hotel, Lachlan Valley Hotel, Tastebuds, The Hideout, and Café Ruze.
In Woodstock, the vouchers can be used at the Royal Hotel. At the time of writing, no businesses in Wyangala or Gooloogong had registered to the program, and there were no businesses anywhere in the Cowra Shire registered to accept “discover” vouchers.
Cowra Services Club Manager Lloyd Garratt said his club had started to see numbers of the vouchers coming through the doors.
He said that while he expected the vouchers to drive numbers through his club, he hoped that people would use them at all local cafes, restaurants and coffee shops. “There’s a great opportunity here for the vouchers to boost small business in town,” he said.
“The program is great for the hospitality industry and a real incentive for people to spend locally.”
“It’s a great chance for some of the smaller hospitality venues in town to cash in, as they’ve done it really tough over the last year or so.”
To access the vouchers you must have the most up to date Service NSW app. Apply for the vouchers in the “vouchers” section and follow the prompts, after which your four vouchers will appear in the same section of the app.
