Cowra U3A provides educational and recreational activities for the over 50’s in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and at low cost. Although we are one of the smallest NSW U3A’s what we lack in numbers we make up for in enthusiasm. If you are retired or semi-retired you are welcome to come along on a Tuesday or Thursday between 9.30am and 12.30pm at the Cowra & District Senior Citizens Centre in Railway Lane Cowra, right next door to Woolworths and see what we have on offer. With new members come new ideas for courses and activities.

Our regular Tai Chi, Balance ‘n Bones and Tai Chi Fitness are great ways to help keep our bodies flexible. It also can help with balance as we get older. We have a great variety of Tai Chi forms we practice and new members are very welcome.

During April there will be a lot of wonderful activities as part of the NSW Seniors Festival which runs from the 12-24 April. Our local committee has been working hard to put together an exciting program of events. Cowra U3A and Cowra 3L’s (Cowra Senior Citizens) are hosting Novelty Bowls, Sport-ability Games, 14th Great Seniors Festival Trivia Challenge and a Morning Tea featuring Aprons so watch out for the program which will be out very soon. A big thanks to Cowra Council and all the other organisations on the committee for putting on these covid-safe events.

Planning is underway for Term 2 2021 and we are looking forward to introducing some new activities, amongst which is a weekly trivia challenge where teams of three will answer 10 questions every week with a prize for the team with the most correct at the end of Term. We have asked members to submit lots of questions so should be lots of fun.
