Cowra Squash Players Compete in Forbes

Eight players from the Cowra Services Squash Club competed in the Forbes Squash Open over the weekend. The players that represented our local club included: Sandra Uren, Tom Baker, Karl Lanham, Mitch Beer, Chloe Lanham, Alex McFarland, and Bianca Lyons. All players took away prizes from the competition. The highlights for our club were Chloe Lanham defeating Forbes player Louise Webb for Women’s B Grade, whilst Tom Baker was the runner up in Men’s B Grade.

Women’s C Grade Plate – Bianca Lyons
Men’s Open Consolation Plate – Mitch Beer
Men’s A Grade Consolation Plate – Karl Lanham
Men’s B Grade Consolation Plate – Alex McFarland
Women’s B Grade Consolation Plate – Sandra Uren

The Cowra players would like say a big thank you to Forbes Squash Club for hosting another brilliant tournament and giving the opportunity for local, state and interstate talent to be showcased.

Upcoming local tournaments Cowra will be competing at include:

  • Parkes Doubles (2nd and 3rd of April)
  • Dave Fuller Inter Town (13th, 14th and 15th of May)
  • Cowra Open (2nd and 3rd of July) The community is also reminded that there is free junior coaching from 5:15pm on Mondays.
