Cowra Public School students and staff are looking forward to celebrating Education Week this week, with the theme for 2022 being “Creating Futures - Education Changes Lives”.

We had planned to kick off Education Week on Monday 1st August with “Billy’s Picnic Bonanza”, with all our families invited to come along and share a picnic lunch outside with their children and join in our whole-school tabloid sports afternoon at River Park from 11:15am-2pm. However, due to inclement weather, this has now been postponed to a later date. Throughout the week, we will be running our annual ArchiBilly Art Competition, with our school mascot, Billy the Platypus, as the subject.

Students will be creating a portrait of Billy in the future with the popular “People’s Choice” award to be announced on Friday!

Classes will also be involved in a “Design-a-door” competition, where they will decorate their classroom door to reflect the 2022 Education Week theme, with prizes for the most cre-ative Infants and Primary classroom door design.

We are also excited to have the Healthy Harold the giraffe and the Life Education Van visit our school during Education Week and all classes will attend these important sessions.

On Thursday 4th August we will host our Kindergarten Parent Information evening from 5:30-6:30pm in the Infants Open Space, and we are excited to meet our 2023 Kinder parents. Please check out our school Facebook page for plenty of photos and updates throughout Education Week!
