Cowra Eisteddfod 2023 Update

The syllabus for the 69th Annual Cowra Eisteddfod has been completed, and is now available for viewing on the Cowra Eisteddfod website.

Entries will be open next week.

All positions on the committee were filled at the recent well attended Annual Meeting. The ‘22 Eisteddfod ran at a small loss, however is still in a strong financial position in preparation for the coming year. The committee is very thankful for the continued support of our generous sponsors, and the Cowra Community.

Major Sections are the Patricia Fagan Operatic Aria Championship sponsored by Calleen Trust - Farleigh Vocal Scholarships for Junior & Senior - Weir Trust Local Performing Arts Scholarships which has been increased to three - Peter & Jenny Fagan Instrumental Recital - Cowra Services Club Sponsors of Speech & Drama Sections & Scholarship - plus $2000 Instrumental/Piano Scholarship sponsored by Peter Delaney - and Scholarships for Ballet and Dance. A very comprehensive list of major Sections.

The committee has also included many new sections this year, available for all disciplines and all age groups.

Entries for the Cowra Eisteddfod will close on 6th March for most sections - with entries for School Sections closing on 20th March. No late entries will be accepted. Once entries are closed the program will organised. The Eisteddfod will run from 3rd May to 4th June 2023 - with the Grand Concert of selected prizewinners being held on 17th June.

Approximate dates for each discipline will be as follows: Speech & Drama: 3rd - 6th May
Dance Groups: Junior 13th May Senior 27th & 28th May
Instrumental: 15th - 17th May
Vocal: 17th - 21st May
The committee is looking forward to presenting another successful Eisteddfod in this the seventieth year since the Cowra Eisteddfod Committee was formed by a small group of enthu-siastic local residents.
Dance: 23rd May - 4th June
