Lockdown… Again!
September has brought us once again to lockdown, so everyone has had their wings clipped for now. September Markets were cancelled and our Chest office is closed.
However, behind the scenes, work still carries on with Cowra Community Chest. People still get sick and some still need assistance. Administrative tasks are never in lockdown, and information and interviews are still available by phone. Phone interviews work very well, particularly if there is a longer time frame for assistance. Remember to ring us if you need more information, or wish to book an interview.
Our Wonderful Volunteers
Did you know that everyone who works with the Chest is a volunteer? We have 9 volunteers on our Management Committee and 14 others who help to make up our Assessment Panels. More volunteers help at the Markets each month. It’s wonderful to have this support from community members who give of their time so generously and believe so passionately in the work we do in the Cowra Shire.
Our membership sits at around 60 mem-bers, many of whom have supported us right from the beginnings of the Chest in 2003. Our volunteers must also be members in order to be covered by Public Risk Insurance. Membership is $10 per year, and $5 for Juniors.
