How Do We Work?
If you, or someone you know needs financial help with any medical expenses, you only need to make a phone call, or send a text or email to the Cowra Community Chest. There is no need for a professional referral, although this also happens when a doctor, social worker, or other medical professional recognizes a need.
The person you speak to will arrange an interview time so an application form can be completed and the application lodged. Documents quoting costs, either anticipated or already paid, are required to support the application, as well as documents stating the medical condition being treated.
The outcome of the application is approved by an Assessment Panel.

In spite of the miserable winter weather your Community Chest continues to host very successful monthly markets which are well attended by both locals and visitors to the town.
As you know, entry to the markets is by gold coin donation. For the months of June, July and August the donations have been considerable. June $495.05, July $570.85 and August a whopping $650.30! Every cent of this money is directed to clients’ needs. Well done, Cowra!
Volunteers are always needed at the Market entry point and to help with our BBQ. If you are available from time to time, please get in touch with Mel Barlow on 0473 346 046. You don’t need to help every month, and you don’t need to be a Community Chest member to lend a hand and be appreciated for your support.
