COVID & Sport In Cowra

Sport

With the ever changing Covid 19 situation in New South Wales, QR codes, masks and restrictions have once again become the norm across our state. Sport Clubs in Cowra are no exception to the rule with game days looking a little different moving forward post school holidays. In accordance with public health orders from the government, adults and children over 12 will be required to wear masks and check in via QR codes on game days. While regional New South Wales remains spared from tough lockdowns, we still need to do our part when it comes to community health, even from the sidelines of a sporting match.

Many clubs across Cowra have released updated Covid safety requirements for game days and training sessions in order to ensure their players and spectators comply with the rules and remain safe. Please keep in mind as spectators that while it can be frustrating wearing a mask and continuously checking in, the people who may be asking you to do these things on the field or court are volunteers doing their part to keep sport running safely. Netball, Junior Rugby League, Squash, Junior Rugby Union, AFL, Senior Rugby Union and Senior Rugby League, Soccer, Tennis and Hockey in Cowra all have specific covid rules in place. Some indoor sports and games that are played in close proximity on smaller courts, will have restrictions on the number of players and spectators allowed at any one time. By staying vigilant and adher-ing to the health orders, we as a community can keep our town safe. For the newest and updated information regarding health orders, please check with your individual sporting club.
