Congrats To Stassi Austin – 2025 Central West Young Volunteer Of The Year!

The NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards celebrate the incredible efforts of volunteers across the state. At the Central West Regional Ceremony, held on 24 September at the Orange Services Club, Stassi Austin was named the 2025 Central West Young Volunteer of the Year!

As the Chair of the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition (AYAC), Stassi represents the 4.7 million young Australians nationally and regularly meets with local, state and federal representatives to ensure youth voices are at the forefront of decision making.

An advocate from a young age, Stassi was an appointed member of the ACYP Youth Advisory Council for 2021-22 and is the founder of anti-bullying campaign #Projectupstander in collaboration with Youth Action NSW. She was successful in securing $1.27 million dollars from the NSW State Government and later, additional funding from the Albanese Labour Government to fund a Country University Centre in her hometown to ensure easier access to tertiary education. Stassi currently serves as the Chair of the Board.

This is a fantastic achievement, and Stassi will now go on to represent the region at the NSW State Awards in December.
