Rugby League

The 2021 season is coming around fast and like many other junior sports in the region, Cowra Junior Rugby League are on the hunt for players. Numbers are not as large as they have been in the past, so we want to put a call out to all the parents and guardians of Cowra to consider registering their children in local rugby league. Getting out on the field again, could be a welcome change of pace for rural kids.

Sport has a range of benefits for children such as building their confidence, encouraging social skills and motor skills development. Playing in a team helps children learn good old-fashioned sportsmanship and teamwork away from screens.

We know it can be daunting for a child to join a team of children they may not know, and play a game they may not be confident in, but there is no need to worry. Our coaches are well trained, dedicated, friendly and understanding. They will walk with the players every step of the way and help them build their skills from their first kick and tackle, to their very first try. They encourage their players and support them through the wins and losses. The skills and lessons a child can learn in a team sport, can stay with them well into their adult years.

Cowra Junior Rugby League are a family orientated and passionate club, made up of volunteers from the community who are committed to the legacy of mateship in local footy.

Parents and guardians can use the active kids voucher to register their children. Our teams range from Under 6’s through to Under 16’s tackle, plus girls League Tag.

There is still time to get your children involved with us. Registration details can be found on our Facebook page and we welcome any questions or queries.
