The Cowra Information and Neighbourhood Centre has raised $511.75 for the Cancer Council, and recognised the importance of Indigenous Australia, after hosting a combined National Sorry Day and Biggest Morning Tea event last Friday.

National Sorry Day is part of Reconciliation Week, which runs from May 26 to June 3 each year.

While National Sorry Day is on May 26, CINC decided to observe it on May 28 instead and combine it with their Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser, which is a nation-wide program to raise funds for the Cancer Council.

CINC Manager Fran Stead said the day was a huge success.

“It’s just great to be able to have these events again post COVID, and it was held in a very COVID safe way,” she said.

“We had 75 people turn out and raise money through gold coin donations as well as our raffle.”
