The Chiverton Road Drainage Upgrade is a $400,000 Council-led project improving stormwater management across a 127-hectare catchment from the airport to Crowther Creek.
A catchment analysis revealed that aging 450mm pipes under Chiverton Road had shifted, allowing water infiltration that softened the pavement and compromised road safety. In response, Council replaced the old system with a larger twin-cell 1.5m x 1.2m box culvert, constructed a graded outlet to a nearby dam, deepened the dam, and built 100 metres of concretelined open drain to Crowther Creek.
Funded through the Roads to Recovery program, the project is nearing completion and is expected to finish by 30 June 2025.
