Bowls Report

Congratulations to the team of Robbie Byrne, Dorcas Presnell, Barb McGilvray & Shane Egan (Skip) on winning the Mixed 4’s Final on Sunday defeating Sharen Hubber’s side 21-19.

Both sides won through to Sunday’s finals following wins on Saturday, Shane def Mick Beaths’ side 26-19 & Sharen def Shane Lauritzen’s side 24-15.

Sunday’s match was an even affair with both sides sharing ends with the score at 9-8 after 9 ends in Shane’s favour.

Shane scored 7 shots over the next 3 ends to increase his lead to 8 (16-8). Sharen won 6 of the next 8 ends including 5 shots on the 20 end to take a 1 shot lead 19-18.

Shane then picked up 3 shots on the final end to record a 21-19 win and the Mixed 4’s tile.

This weekend the Mixed Pairs Championships commence with 2 games scheduled for Saturday afternoon from 1:00pm

Myrna Peterson/Shane Egan v Alan Castelli/Anne Castelli Robert Oliver/Leila Burns v Noel Hubber/Sharen Hubber Michael Baldwin/Dawn Dye, Dorcas Presnell/Greg Nicholls, Sonia Morgan/Bob Morgan, Christine Pickard/John Pickard, Sandra Davis/John Davis & Bruce Oliver/Barb McGilvray all have a bye.
