Local disability service provider Ability Network unveiled plans last week for new facilities it hopes would revolutionise and create a “eutopia” for disability care in Cowra.

Ability Network publicly unveiled its new premises at 66 Lyall Street, Cowra, last Tuesday, as well as its expansion plans, with Federal Member for Riverina Michael McCormack and Federal Regional Health Minister Dr David Gillespie in attendance.

Ability Network is hoping to secure funds for its expansion, which features a new building to be used for a community centre, offices and activity spaces, as well as a new accommodation block, gardens and a parkland area.

The existing building at the premises is currently used for short term accommodation, and more space is needed for Ability Network to carry out its future plans.

An Ability Network spokesperson said the new facilities would be a massive coup for Cowra.

“It’s all about creating a facility for the entire community,” they said.

“Our plan is to create a ‘eutopia’ that can be used by our clients and enhance the services we provide for them and the wider community.”
