Couples in Cowra were able to enjoy a perfect, relaxing evening on Monday to celebrate Valentine’s Day, including customers of Strawberry Hills Events.

Strawberry Hills Events, run by local lady Rebekah Lazarou, arranged romantic picnics for couples at the Cowra Japanese Garden, offering exclusive after-hours access to the whole gardens.

With only three bookings available, three lucky couples took up the opportunity before they became fully booked.

With clear skies and temperatures around the 30-degree mark, it proved to be perfect weather for the occasion.

This year was the first time Ms Lazarou had hosted the picnics for Valentine’s Day, and she said it was a special way of catering for couples.

“The most special things to me was to be able to provide a relaxing, intimate escape into luxury for people to experience in this area,” she said.

“I fully sold out with three booking this Valentine’s Day, the perfect number to still provide that private, intimate feel in the Japanese Garden.”

“Our picnics at the Japanese Garden are unique to Cowra as we are the only business who does picnics there. The Cowra Japanese Garden is the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere with 5 hectares of beautiful gardens, waterfalls and wildlife. Put a luxury, private picnic at an exclusive evening time with after hours access to the garden there and you’ve got something no one else has experienced before.”

Ms Lazarou encouraged couples that missed out this year to consider booking a picnic next year.

“Our picnics are a great idea for Valentine’s Day to surprise your loved one as we do all the work for you! We take all the stress out of a romantic, special day by providing a full picnic set up with a grazing box and beverages of your choice,” she said.
